Bio

Raul E. Gutierrez G. Retired Colonel of the Colombian Air Force. Recognized for his leadership in structuring, disseminating, and promoting Colombian space development throughout his military career and since his retirement from active duty.

Holds a degree in Aeronautical Administration, a specialization in National Security and Defense, and a Master's degree in Aerospace Administration.

In the Colombian Air Force, among other positions, he was responsible for directing the Center for Research in Aerospace Technologies, managing the Valle del Cauca Aerospace Cluster, and as Head of Space Affairs.

After retiring from active service, at Colciencias, now the Colombian Ministry of Science and Technology, he was in charge of formulating the project "Development and Use of Satellite Technologies for Colombia." He has also developed his entrepreneurial side in the space sector as a Partner and Business Development Director of Satellite Squared Ltd (United Kingdom) and as co-founder and Business Development Director for Latin America of Octant Aerospace Consulting (Canada). He led the creation of the National Space Society Colombia, of which is President and CEO.

Currently serves as coordinator of the Technical Committee of the Colombian Space Commission at the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC), which is the Technical Secretariat of the CCE, and is responsible for coordinating the Working Groups on Earth Observation, Satellite Communications, Legal Affairs, and International Affairs.
